1. The diary of a young girl

Author: Anne Frank

This book is a classic. In 1942, the Nazis occupied Holland and a 13-year-old Jewish girl along with her family had to flee from their homes in Amsterdam and go into hiding. Cut off from the outside world, they faced a lot of troubles. From being deprived of food to housing, they experienced it all. All accounts of these are held in the diary of a young girl- Anne Frank.

Making this book a perfectly perfect self-portrait of a spirited young woman, it really makes readers want to dive deeper into Frank’s telling of the incident.

2. The Count of Monte Cristo

Author : Alexandre Dumas

Imagine being put into prison for something you didn’t do. Edmond Dantes knew that feeling all too well. He was confined to the sadistic fortress of If for a crime he had no part in.

This is where he learned of the great treasures hidden in the Isle of Monte Cristo. His next move was decided- get out of the prison and find that treasure. He would use the treasure to plot against the men who were the causative factors of his incarceration.

From suffering to retribution Dantes’ to wrong-doings, this book has it all, making it popular among newer readers wanting to experience that rush along with the plot's protagonist.

3. The Palace of Illusions

Author : Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

Indian novelists, never disappoint. This book is narrated by Panchali (Draupadi), the wife of the Pandavas in Mahabharata. Reading the book from her perspective gives a new dimension to our line of thought about all the characters involved in this play.

This book speaks of her right from her birth in fire, to becoming a woman with five husbands who had been cheated out of their own father’s kingdom. Her character as a warrior and a fiery female has been well explored in this book, allowing readers to fall in love with this epic all over again.

And that is it for today guys. We hope you found some books that you might like and wish to add to your TBR. Do let us know if you have read any of these books and if you have how did you find them to be?

Thanks a lot for reading!
